Friday, February 12, Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume, the Minister of Health accompanied by an international delegation, composed of the Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, Ms. Paula Caldwell St Onge, PAHO-WHO Representative in Haiti, Dr. Jean Luc Poncelet, a head of OCHA, John Ging and other key actors involved in the voluntary returns process and repatriations of Haitians living in the Dominican Republic, including the international Organization for migration (IOM), visited two refugee camps in the commune of Anse-a-Pitres.
This visit must facilitate the process leading to the relocation of about 325 refugee families living in extreme conditions and their access to better living conditions. IOM has officially announced the relocation in three weeks, of occupants in hosting sites of Anse-à-Pitres.
