iciHaiti - Culture : Success of National Carnival 2016

Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture, welcomes the successful conduct of the 2016 edition of the National Carnival (8 and 9 February) and wishes to thank the many stakeholders who contributed to the full success of the event.
The Minister Raton, congratulated the members of the organizing committee, cultural operators and artists "who helped us to face the challenge, not to mention the diligence of the National Police of Haiti and the emergency service and of first care deployed at Champ de Mars. Our best thanks go particularly to our compatriots, who have, once again, prove that we are a people that lives and vibrates of hopes and big ambitions."
Furthermore, the Minister took the opportunity to reiterate "the need to institutionalize the Haitian Carnival by giving it a normative framework that will preserve the traditions and establish the rules governing its conduct. The objective is not only to save but also to improve the organization of one of the biggest cultural events of Haiti."
