iciHaiti - Culture : The walking band Follow Jah in music on all fronts 29/01/2016 10:19:35
In parallel, the walking band continues to work around his participation in the Carnival 2016. Follow Jah has already taken the streets for the first pre-carnival Sunday 17 January past. Sunday, January 31, from 3pm Follow Jah will receive visitors to his headquarters, located impasse Rivière #54 in Berthé (Pétion-ville). Visitors will be able to meet the musicians and fans and the heads of the band and assist the preparations for the exit and follow the group as they please. The band wil lalso welcomes on this occasion the teams of the filmmakers Yves Billon and Arnold Antonin who are preparing a documentary about the walking bands in Haiti at the initiative of the French association "Heritage without Borders" and the State University of Haiti, in collaboration with the Centre Pétion-Bolivar, Musiclab and Caracoli. The documentary of 56 minutes will be broadcast on France Ô and Télémétropole from October 2016. Additionally, like every year, Follow Jah produced its meringue for the Carnival "Ann fredone" that runs for several weeks on the air. In addition, for the first time Follow Jah has also released a music video directed by Laurent Jobsonn, Lobiz. Finally, Jah Follow organizing jointly with the cultural association Berthé, the first Berthé-Naval Saturday, January 30, at 5:00 pm In order to satisfy all participants in addition to Follow Jah, we can count on the performance of rap group NTS, DJs Beng and Skiny s well as many games for children (hopscotch, rope, table football, etc.).
