Thursday at the invitation of the Association of young progressive of Curtis, many residents, youth and adults and other personalities from the city center of Petit-Goâve, participated in a series of educational, sporting, cultural activities organized by members of this association in order to change the image of Curtis, which since 2013 has the reputation of an area of lawlessness, a red zone, a zone of tensions because of armed youths known as "rebels" took refuge their, claiming the electrification of the area, the dredging of rivers, attacked on the National road #2 cars and security forces https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10108-haiti-security-arrest-of-the-chief-of-rebels-of-barette.html

Today, Curtis residents have vowed to change the perception of Curtis and work for its development and will not tolerate that individuals are committing acts of violence, vandalism in their area.

Speaking on the theme "Let's build a Curtis like no other" Professor and journalist Guyto Mathieu (corresponding of HaitiLibre.com), urged youth of Curtis to assume their civic responsibilities, to be involved in all awareness activities likely to advance the community. He also urged them to be vigilant, supportive, cultivating fraternity, unity, spirit of cooperation, tolerance, avoid violence, the barricades as a means of getting their demands...
