iciHaiti - Culture : Creole and Vodou honored at the Ghetto Biennale
Biennial Foundation is an independent non-profit arts organization that was founded in 2009 to stimulate a spirit of solidarity among contemporary art biennials worldwide, and to facilitate a diversity of platforms for the exchange of knowledge, information and expertise.

It organizes several art projects in various countries, including Haiti which is now in its fourth edition of Ghetto Biennale this year. A cultural initiative through which Haitian artists invite foreign artists to work with them and produce an artistic show at the end of the event.

The Ghetto Biennale this year invited international artists from many countries, to explore what potentials these tools—Kreyòl, Vodou and Lakou—have to offer to the contemporary world. The Ghetto Biennale prioritizes projects that incorporate language, space, performance and symbolism and considers global territorial struggles; forms of linguistic refusal and friction; and ritual and esoteric forms of obstruction and intransigence.

The Ghetto Biennale will be held from December 14 to December 21, 622, Blvd Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Port-au-Prince
