iciHaiti - Education : More than 6,8 billion gourdes paid in tuition subsidy 09/12/2015 10:10:10
Tuesday in a press conference, Rénold Telfort, the Director General of the Ministry of Education presented to the press, the report of four years of implementation of the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO).
In summary and figures, he indicated that between 2011 and 2015, more than 6.8 billion gourdes have been paid to non-public schools in terms of the tuition subsidy at 90 US dollars per student.
According to information provided, 8,636 private schools are beneficiaries of PSUGO is : 5.033 (West), 1810 (Artibonite), 453 (North), 324 (Center), 300 (Grand'Anse), 292 (Northwest), 153 (Northeast), 99 (South), 90 (Nippes ) and 82 (Southeast).
Due to non compliance with administrative, educational standards and facilities, 200 schools were affected by exclusion or closure measures.
