iciHaiti - Justice : Conference-debate on Prolonged Preventive Detention 01/12/2015 10:57:04 This activity aimed to bring together around the same table the actors concerned by this issue, in order to find a consensual way to speed the judgments needed to address overcrowding and meet the legal and moral requirements Pierre Richard Casimir, Minister of Justice and Public Security, the elected Senator of West Jean Renel Sénatus, Ms. Dylia Lemaire of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), the Director General of the Ministry of Justice and Security public, Roudy Aly, the Commissioner Substitute of Government to the court of Appeal of Port-au-Prince, M. Kébreau Zamor, Marie Yolène Jean Gilles of RNDDH, representatives of the DAP, of the MINUSTAH, of Projustice as well as of other stakeholders related to this topic participated. According to organizers, the conference was more than enriching for student judges, who were the primary audience and some law students from the capital. The theme has had the effect to raise awareness the latter aspiring to join the judiciary on the importance of the issue and the need to make improvements.
