iciHaiti - Politic : Meeting debates around the functioning of Local Authorities
On Friday, the House of Local Governments https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12716-haiti-politic-opening-of-the-house-of-local-governments.html inaugurated a series of meetings and debates on the role and function of local elected officials, and the issues of the
deconcentration, decentralization and development of Local Authorities generally.

The first debate of the series, which was held Friday, November 20, 2015, on the theme "The State and Collectivities," brought together CASECs, ASECS and Interim Executives from different departments of the country. The discussions were led by Mr. Jude Saint-Natus, former Director of Local Authorities at the Ministry of Interior and Territorial Communities, as well as Mr Uder Antoine, Director of the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) and Martin Blackburn, Director of Canadian Municipal Cooperation Program (MCP).

According to Mr. Paul André, president of the National Federation of CASEC of Haiti (FENACAH), this initiative is part of the objective of the awareness of local officials and of the entire population on the importance of territorial bodies in view of an integrated sustainable development of Local Authorities and the entire country.
