iciHaiti - Social : Emmanuel Dubourg receives the Prix Paul Déjean 20/11/2015 09:06:06 On this occasion in the presence of more a hundred personalities including among others the Consul General of Israel, several mayors in the Montreal region, business leaders and personalities from civil society, a special tribute was paid to the Honourable Member for Bourassa Federal, Emmanuel Dubourg (born in Haiti in December 1958 in St. Marc) The Consul Larèche congratulated Mr. Dubourg for his "exemplary career in the provincial and federal public administration and for services rendered to the Haitian community." Le Député Dubourg a été honoré et ému de recevoir cette distinction, d’autant plus qu’il s’agit de la première du genre qu’il reçoit directement de la République d’Haïti. Learn more about Emmanuel Dubourg : Arrived in Montreal North in 1974, he completed his secondary education before continuing his academic career. Chartered professional accountant, he worked several years at the Canada Revenue Agency before making the leap to provincial politics in 2007, then federal politics in 2013. Learn more about Paul Déjean (1931-2005) : Paul Déjean was a significant figure, an inspiring person for the Haitian community of RDP, but also to that of the great Montreal. He contributed among others to the fight against racism, promoting literacy and education for young people, in addition to having accompanied with perseverance Haitians in distress in their integration efforts on Canadian soil. He is also the founder of the Office for the Haitian Christian Community of Montreal, a reception center, of research and space for reflection, with Haiti for field of study. Paul Déjean was also Minister of Haitians living abroad between October 1996 and April 1997.
