Louis Evens, Pierre Vendredi and Kens Cazeau won three bronze medals at the Open Shotokan hat took place in Curaçao (Lesser Antilles), 30-31 October 2015.
Also composed of St Nozier Dieuseul, Paul Apollon and the national coach Derosier, the national coach, the Haitian delegation was welcomed Monday, November 2nd by several members of the National Karate Federation of Haiti to the diplomatic lounge of the Toussaint Louverture Airport.

Shomen Gichin Funakoshi is considered as the Father of modern karate. It is the importer of karate-dô in Japan and founder of the Shōtōkan style, he made evolve the initial form of Okinawan karate. Originally Funakoshi practiced the two schools that dominated (shorei-ryū and shorin-ryū) before developing a new form of karaté-dō, a simpler model, combining the ideals of shorei-ryū and of shorin-ryū.
