Despite their vulnerability, women are not passive witnesses of their condition but competent actresses, informed and critical able to engage as agents of change both at the individual and institutional levels, from grassroots initiatives until the implementation of policies at the highest level. Also, the Haitian Red Cross (HRC), of its strong post-earthquake experiences and of reflections on the role and importance of women in the prevention and recovery in times of crisis and disaster, organizes with the support of the entities of the Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, key partners and in partnership with the Ministry of Feminine Condition and on the Rights of Haitian Women, an International Conference on Gender Equality in Haiti (May 29, 2016).
