Block "the circulation of 250,000 firearms held illegally and sometimes used to commit crimes in Haiti", constitutes an imperative for Godson Orélus, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) who believes that we must seize and destroy them.

However, it would be an illusion to believe that only one operation will be sufficient to avert the constant danger faced by the Haitian people, law enforcement officers included. The situation is much more complicated than it appears because other weapons continue in the meantime to illegally cross the entrance doors of the country : Ports, Airports and Borders, explained Godson Orélus.

To "stop this scourge," the Commander of the PNH recommends that other State institutions undertake "more and seriously" in this fight.
