iciHaiti - FLASH : Concert of American Hip Hop group Life Through Colors
As part of the cultural exchange program sponsored by the US Embassy in Haiti, the US Embassy announced that the American evangelical Hip Hop group Life Through Colors will offer a FREE concert, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. to the Villa MaMiKa located at #3, Duval 24, Val des Lauriers (Croix-des-Bouquets).

The groups of Haitian Rap "The Preachers", "D-Christ" and dancers, will also participate in this show. The public in general and especially rap lovers are invited to attend.

The group Life Through Colors in Haiti from September 27 to October 3, 2015, is composed of three members (Rockette, T. Pope Jimbo and of Jet) and is native from Montgomery (Alabama, United States). Their songs give off a positive message to youth development in difficulty around the world. Their goal is to encourage and interact with community leaders and enthusiasts youth groups of Rap music that are able to bring positive change in their communities.



During his stay, the group runs workshops in schools and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) with local singers and rappers. They had other activities, at the Gymnasium Vincent, the Welcome Centre of Delmas 3, the YMCA of Croix-des-Bouquets, to Sakala to (Cite Soleil), the Prison for Women in Petion-Ville, and to the Juvénat College of the Sacred Heart in Carrefour Truitier.

These members aspire to encourage young people to solve social problems in their communities through peaceful solutions. They also offer entertainment for young people in Port-au-Prince, Croix-des-Bouquets, Delmas and Carrefour.

The visit of the "Life Through Colors" group is done at the initiative of the Office of Public Affairs of the Embassy of the United States in order to promote American music in Haiti, strengthen the friendship between the US and Haitians through music and allow Haitians to better discover the history of the United States, particularly evangelical music and its role in shaping positive changes in the lives of communities.
