iciHaiti - FLASH : Study reveals that Haiti is not ready for a new earthquake
A study prepared by Spanish academics, led by the University of Alicante with the cooperation of Haitian institutions, reveals that some 44,000 houses (30,000 in Port-au-Prince and 14,000 in Cap Haitien would be uninhabitable due to their collapse or would have ignificant damage if another high intensity earthquake occurred in Haiti.

The results of this study indicate that Haiti is unprepared for new earthquake. To cope and to prevent damage, the study estimates that at least $2,1 billion would be needed to rebuild Port-au-Prince and 700 million for the Cap-Haitien.
