iciHaiti - Social : Lifting of the border blockade after an agreement 21/08/2015 11:05:13
Ricardo de los Santos, vice president of Fenatrado, said he lifted the blockade because the Haitian and Dominican authorities have concluded an agreement to guarantee the life of drivers and protect the goods. The suspension of the protest, announces the resumption of border transit to Haiti by the provinces of Jimaní and Elías Piña... The decision was taken after a meeting with the governor of Dajabón, Ramona Rodriguez Quezada; Giovanni Escoto, general secretary of Fenatrado in Dajabon; Lieutenant Colonel Santiago Gómez as well as Colonels Félix Pérez Peralta and Francisco Vargas; and also with the regional directors of the National Police based in different provinces of Northwest. Let's recall that yesterday in Port-au-Prince was also held a meeting on Border Transportation https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14891-icihaiti-economy-meeting-in-pap-on-the-border-transportation.html and that the freight to Haiti from the Dominican Republic was suspended since Monday, 3 August.
