iciHaiti - Social : 220 Haitians repatriated
For less than one week that the Dominican Directorate General of Immigration began the process of repatriation of immigrants who have not joined the National Plan for Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), about 220 Haitians have been repatriated to Haiti.

Information that was disclosed by Major-General Rubén Paulino Sem, the Director of Immigration, who said that repatriations are taking place without any impasse and individually, through the border towns of Dajabón and Jimaní. He said that through Jimani have been repatriated 95 Haitians, while 125 have been through Dajabón.

"Repatriations are excellent. So far, we repatriate via two points, all of this was a regular procedure, each case is different. He has not had any problems so far," he said.

While for his part Ledner Renauld, Foreign Minister of Haiti, declared earlier this week "The Haitian State will not receive on its territory of persons threatened of statelessness. We deplore the provisions of the Dominican Government that occur even before the completion of the revision of the dialog of repatriation protocol."

Regarding the revision of a protocol, Paulino Sem responded "We already have one, we can not sign another, we have one that was signed by the two countries," adding that the repatriation process is "performed as dictates our laws and regulations and without violating the rights," stressing that their actions are attached to the international conventions and standards.
