After having defeated Friday evening, St Vincent and the Grenadines [1-0] https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14853-icihaiti-football-haiti-qualified-for-the-final-of-caribbean-tournament.html the Haitian National Olympic selection, won Sunday the final of the U-23 tournament of the Caribbean by defeating Cuba [1-0], with a goal of Jonel Désiré well served by Telfort Manchini in the 23rd minute, in a match that ended under a pouring rain.

Recall that this competition, accounting for the preliminary qualifications of the Rio 2016 Olympics, had been carefully prepared by the Haitian technical staff and the Haitian Football Federation, which, following the elimination of the senior selection in 1/4 final of the Gold Cup 2015, had turned to the 2016 Olympics.
