Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industry (MTIC) visited the operations center of the Canadian Tour operator Sunwing in Toronto. A meeting was held with various directors of their hotel chain Blue Diamond, the operating manager of charter flights and the development of new products.

Discussions with Stephen Hunter, President of Sunwing Travel Company, have focused on a possible arrival of the Canadian company in the travel circuit in Haiti. Sunwing Airlines should specifically provide charter flights to the destination "Ile-à-Vache."

Recall that Sunwing Travel Group, is the largest tour operator in North America, the vertically integrated Sunwing Travel Group generates $2 billion in annual revenue. Holding a position on PROFIT Magazine's annual list for ten consecutive years, the Group has grown to operate an airline with a modern fleet of 37 aircraft, three major North American tour operators, two renowned travel retailers, a hotel division with over 7,000 rooms, a vacation club and a destination management company reporting triple-digit growth. In 2009, the Sunwing Travel Group entered into a partnership with TUI Group, the world’s largest leisure travel company.
