iciHaiti - Politic : The American Occupation, one hundred years later...
Monday, the Ministry of Culture and its autonomous directorates have organized a lecture-discussion in the gardens of the Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien (MUPANAH), around the theme of "American Occupation, one hundred years later, the Republic remembers". The main speakers at the conference were professors Pierre Buteau, Hérold Toussaint and Georges Michel.

Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, Minister of Culture, Érold Josué, General Director of the National Bureau of Ethnology, Michèle G. Frisch, Director of the Museum and Mrs. Emmelie Prophète, Director General of the National Library, have intervened in this talk. In her intervention, the Minister Raton stressed the need to maintain the memory and contribution of cultural creators to the sustainability of the latter.

The Conference was followed by an exhibition of archive documents dating from the occupation. This activity whose audience was mostly made up of students, will continue throughout the week in the gardens of MUPANAH.
