iciHaiti - Tourism : New Reception Centre in Port à Piment
Thursday, Karine Condé, the Departmental Director of the South Department of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) visited the new welcome center of the cave Marie Jeanne.

During her visit, she met with representatives of the South Coast Initiave (CSI) and KPP on the continuity of work to better welcome tourists eager to visit the Cave.

Learn more about Cave Marie-Jeanne :
Cave Marie-Jeanne is the longest natural excavation of the Caribbean, it counts on three levels, truly explored to date, 56 rooms (caves) recorded, it is a maze of four kilometers of stepped galleries on five levels.

Walls, ceilings and floors of this excavation are covered with speleothems (stalactites and stalagmites in caves) of all types and sizes, which are unique to tropical caves.

Some researchers believe that the formation of this underground structure dates back nearly 60 million years.
