Today aged 88, René Depestre, this jacmélien or origin whose everyone knows the life and work, receives a warm tribute to the IFH. René Depestre, the author of "Hadriana dans tous mes rêves", the revolutionary, the prisoner, the inexhaustible nomad, the great intellectual will be present at this event. It was at 19 years that the author published his first book of poetry before creating the magazine La Ruche to "help Haitians to become aware of their ability to renovate the historical foundations of their identity," recalls the poet. The man becomes the same year in 1946 one of the leaders of the revolutionary movements that will lead the students in exile to Paris where he will meet with the intellectuals of the time and other Surrealists.
