In a video message addressed to the population in general and future voters in particular, the President Michel Martelly declared :

"Haitians,

My Brothers and sisters,

The elections arrive, get ready to vote it is in the elections that you have a chance to give the country another direction, the direction you want to give it, the direction that that could be the best for your children, the direction that could be the best for your family, the direction that could be the best for your friends, the direction that could be the best for your future.

Vote for the person you like, but vote anyway.

Voting is your right, it is your duty to vote, go vote."
