Saturday at Angoulême (France), the historian and journalist of career Ady Jean Gardy, received from the International Cultural Association "Arts and Letters of France" (ALF), the International History Award for his unprecedented book "Histoires des Indiens Arawaks d’Haïti" (Stories of the Arawak Indians of Haiti) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13771-haiti-culture-ady-jean-gardy-receives-the-grand-prize-international-of-history.html
Ady Jean Gardy, was also named during the ceremony, General Delegate in Haiti of the ALF, in order to make known the winning works and facilitate the participation of Haitian writers to future international competitions.
The ALF believes that the work of our fellow journalist, to be published in France gives "new light on the life of Indian Arawaks of Haiti, at least 1000 years before the arrival of Columbus and represents a historical investigation of importance on the fighting of the first haitians of the island against Spanish barbarity from 1492 to 1550."
