iciHaiti - Social : More than 2,500 Haitians at risk of being deported from Canada 01/06/2015 13:33:31 This measure affects about 3,200 Haitians without status living mainly in the Montreal area who enjoyed the moratorium since 2004, because of their immigration application or asylum rejected but who had not been sent back to their countries result of a situation deemed too dangerous. According to several sources, about 20% of those affected have benefited from these regularization measures, the Canadian immigration service refusing to provide the number of permanent residence received. Recall that our compatriots, hitherto non-deportable under the temporary suspension of returns established there 10 years, due to the security situation in Haiti, are no longer protected since 1 December and that about 2,500 Haitians risk from that day, to be notified of their expulsion from Canada.
