Ricardo Augustin, the Treasurer of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) confirmed that the estimated budget for the organization the legislative elections, local and presidential was ready and had been forwarded to the Executive. He said that the total budget has been estimated at over 66 million US dollars, without specifying the exact amount, saying only that in the budget included an additional $8.2 million for the logistics and infrastructure.

Moreover regarding the cost of these elections and the words of Thomas Adams, the Special Adviser to the US State Department for Haiti which declared that the reduction to 2 elctions instead of 3 would save $ 30 million, Pierre-Louis Opont, the President of the CEP stated that the American adviser "does not control the budget," a diplomatic way of saying that Thomas Adams does not know what he's talkig...

Recall that currently only 37.9 million dollars have already been confirmed for the upcoming elections : 13.8 million US dollars funded by Haiti (36.4%), 6.8 million of the European Union, 6.5 million from the European Union, 6.5 from United States, 5.3 million from Canada, 4.5 millions from Japan and 1 of Brazil
