iciHaiti - Environment : Climate Caribbean Summit 2015
Saturday, May 9, 2105, Martinique will host the preparatory summit of the 21th UN Conference on Climate Change to be held in Paris between November 30 and December 15 of this year. This summit chaired by the President of the French Republic François Hollande, will bring together some forty Heads of State, including the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, Heads of Government and Caribbean organizations.

Small island nations want to make their voices heard during the Summit, including on mitigation efforts of climate change (renewable energy development), the adaptation to those change and the efforts that should provide the major powers towards the small states, which will be hit hard, while they contribute only marginally to emissions of greenhouse gases.

The Minister of Environment, Jean-Marie Claude Germain will meet his counterpart, Segolene Royal, Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, at climate summit in Martinique.
