Millions of gourdes in wage losses in textiles
The strike of drivers of Monday, February 2, 2015, caused losses estimated at over 9 million gourdes in the textile sector for this one day. Indeed, the 36,000 workers in this sector lost an average a daily wage of 250 gourdes. To these loss must be added the transport strikes of Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Carnivals in Cap-Haitien
Thursday, the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien organized the carnival of little ones in Cap-Haitien, a carnival tradition of the Cite Christophienne. This Friday, the North Office of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), participates in the Student Carnival parade, another Capoise tradition. During the three fat days the MTIC will also be at the rendezvous.

Evacuation of alluvial of the Ravine Loé Menard
The Ministry of the Environment announced that the evacuation work of the alluvium at the Ravine Loé Menard began this week. A Loé Menard, nearly 1,400m3 of sediment or alluvial must be evacuated. Note that in the two retained basins, a volume of 3,788 m3 of sediment or alluvium is estimated.

NOTICE : Changing schedules at MUPANAH
The Directorate General of the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) informs the public that the operating hours of the museum has been changed because of the carnival festivities. The Museum will run until noon, Friday, February 13, 2015 and keep its doors closed from Saturday 14th to Wednesday 18th February. Activities will resume Thursday, February 19 following the usual schedule. The Directorate General of MUPANAH wish a happy carnival time at all !

Schedule Consulates closure
The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Miami and Atlanta inform that they will be closed Monday, February 16, 2015 on the occasion of "President's Day" and on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday, February 18, 2015, for the festivities of National Carnival 2015. The activities of the two Consulate will resume Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 8:00 am
