Fusion requires a roadmap otherwise...

Ms. Beauzile the President of the Fusion of Social Democrats who has two ministers and a secretary of state in the new government declared that the consensus can not be reduced to the mere presence of representatives of the parties signatory to the agreement within the government. She requires a roadmap, warning that without this document "the Fusion of Social Democrats could get off the train at any moment..."

715 people shot dead in 2014

The Platform of Haitian Organizations for the Defense of Human Rights (POHDH) says in its annual report that in 2014 in Haiti, 715 people were shot dead, 254 in traffic accidents and 35 by edged weapons...

Soon, beginning of the reconstruction of the Holy Trinity Cathedral

More than 5 years after its destruction, the first phase of the reconstruction work of the new Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port-au-Prince, will soon be launched. The Cathedral will be greater, both modern and rustic, will be rebuilt on the same site (corner of Mgr Guilloux and Pavée). The work will be supervised by the US firm Kerns Group, who designed the new plan. The work to be carried out in phases, will last 4 years and will cost between 15 and 25 million US dollars.

Roads in concrete pavers, generating jobs

Thursday, in the presence of Wilson Laleau the Minister of Economy, of the Director General and members of the private cabinet, those responsible of the Association of Producers of blocks and concrete pavers (APRO-BP) defended the thesis that the concrete paver industry, is the job-creating industry par excellence. In its presentation, APRO-BP pleaded for the return of concrete pavers in the construction of roads in Haiti. For the Association, 1 km drive generates 2,400 man-days employment, highlighting the durability of this type of construction, citing as an example the road of Canapé-Vert / Juvénat that lasted 25 years and the entrance to the Airport which lasted 14 years without repairs.
