Haiti - News : Some news here and there... 07/01/2015 13:18:54 "I am deeply shocked by the terrorist attack on January 7 against the staff of Charlie Hebdo in Paris. Haiti is alongside France in this sad event that killed a dozen people," declared the President of Haiti Michel Martelly. Furthermore Michaëlle Jean, the Secretary General of the International Francophone Organisation (OIF) declared "I firmly condemns the attack this morning in Paris. Together, we must fight against terrorism. This frontal attack against freedom of expression is unacceptable and unjustifiable." Throwing stones at car drivers Tuesday, was held a demonstration in PetitGoâve, to Seradote on National Road #2, a hundred local residents protested against the lack of electricity by blocking the road, using rocks and throwing stones at passing vehicles. Orlando : Commemoration of January 12 The Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Orlando informs the Haitian Community in Central Florida and would like to invite them to a Requiem Mass scheduled for Monday January 12, 2015 at the St James Cathedral located on 215 N. Orange Ave. at 6:00 P.M., in memory of the victims of the 2010 devastating earthquake in Haiti. As part of the Program, the Consulate invites the public to participate in a solemn walk to the Orlando City Hall.
