Blackmail in Senate
Dieuseul Simon Desras, President of the Senate, does not intend to discuss with the executive about the choice of Evans Paul, as long as the question of the extension of the parliamentarians mandate has not been solved. He gives the guarantee that the electoral law will be amended before January 12 if there is an agreement on the existence of Parliament after this date.

MOPOD will continue its protests until the resignation of President

Nearly 300 prisoners pardoned
President Martelly, under Article 146 of the Constitution, granted a presidential pardon to about 300 prisoners throughout the national territory. Lucien Jura, the Spokesman of the Presidency, specified that the beneficiaries are not political prisoners.
