157 members of the Philippine Navy en route to Haiti
Some 157 members of the Philippine Navy are bound for Haiti to replace the 17th Navy contingent (155 men), who have completed their mission. The 18th Philippine contingent is composed of 12 officers and 145 soldiers and is led by Commander Aldrin Doctor. It will ensure the safety of VIPs, and logistical and administrative services, as well as perimeter security at the headquarters of the Force of the United Nations Mission in Haiti. They should stay in Haiti from 6 to 9 months.

UN Habitat visits UCLBP
Monday, Harry Adam, the Executive Director of the Unit for Housing Construction and Public Buildings (ULCBP) received Elkin Velasquez, the Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean of UN Habitat. During this visit, the two men discussed the possibilities for collaboration between the two institutions regarding the conduct of several activities: the implementation of the Development Plan of Canaan; the implementation of the nformation System Neighborhoods Housing (SILQ) and the setting up of an information system and of monitoring of programs.
