Canada's condolences
Embassy of Canada Extends Our Most Sincere Condolences Following a Road Accident Near Morne Tapion on the National Roas #2, yesterday Tuesday. The Embassy of Canada in Haiti issued the following statement "On behalf of all Canadians, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to those who lost loved ones in the accident that took place today near Petit-Goâve. We would also like to wish a speedy recovery to the people injured in this tragic event."

Acting Presidency to the CEP
Monday, due to the prolonged recovery of Max Mathurin, the President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), which would suffer of chikungunya; 7 of 9 advisers voted in favor of the application of Article 18 of the general regulations of the institution, on this basis, Chantal Raymond, Vice President of CEP, will assume the presidency of the council acting.

Gilles Rivard leaves Haiti
Mr. Gilles Rivard, Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of Canada returns to Canada after eight months in Haiti and will soon be replaced by a new Canadian ambassador. Mr. Rivard had previously served as Canada’s Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti from June 2008 to October 2010.

Support of the Chilean government to housing
On Tuesday, as part of the support of the Chilean government to the implementation of the National Housing Policy and Habitat (PNLH) adopted by the Government of Haiti, Harry Adam Executive Director of the Unit Construction housing and public Buildings (UCLBP) received the visit of the Ambassador of Chile in Haiti, Raul Fernandez who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Haiti to Chile, Harvel Jean-Baptiste and Ricardo Herrera, Director of External cooperation of Chile.
