Carolyn Desert will represent Haiti in the 64th Miss World 2014
Carolyn Desert, the new Miss Haiti 2014 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11996-haiti-social-miss-haiti-2014-is-carolyn-desert.html , will represent the country in the 64th Miss World 2014 which will take place December 14, 2014 at Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. If Carolyn Desert wins she will succeed Megan Young, Miss Philippines 2013 and Miss World 2013.

Remediation and rehabilitation in Jacmel
In Jacmel the Government is currently installing a filtration plant to regulate the muddy waters during rainy periods. Always on Jacmel the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (Dinepa) is currently rehabilitating a pumping station supplying a fiberglass tank of 1,100 cubic meters.

Evaluation of PIDIH at MHAVE
Friday, partner institutions of the Identification and Documentation of Haitian Immigrants (PIDIH) Program, met at the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) to discuss mechanisms to be adopted to improve the service of documents in the Dominican Republic. Took part in the meeting François Guillaume II, Minister of MHAVE, Marc-Élie Nelson, general director in the Ministry, Claude Raymond Junior DG Immigration and Emigration, Wilfrid Bertrand, Deputy Director General of the National Identification Office (ONI) and some officials of the Ministry. During the meeting, participants made exchanges by videoconference with Ambassador of Haiti to the Dominican Republic, Fritz Cinéas and Miousemine Myrtil, project coordinator in neighboring republic.

Adapt the Labour Code for disabled people
The Office of the Secretary of State (Gerald Oriol Jr.) for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH), stressed at the 38th Council of Government, the need for an amendment of the Haitian Labor Code, to adapt it to the situation and the needs of people with disabilities. Furthermore the BSEIPH also proposed a law for the establishment of a solidarity fund with the disabled.
