CEP plays extra time
"The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) bring to the attention of the population and the political class, that in accordance with the Council's decision to allow wider participation and greater inclusion of political parties in the ongoing electoral process, the starting point of registrations of Candidates to the said election was postponed to July 12, 2014" In addition the CEP informs that "The entrance examination that will lead to the establishment of decentralized bodies of CEP, namely the Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) and Communal Electoral Offices (BEC), scheduled for June 21, according to the electoral calendar, is postponed to Sunday, July 6, 2014."

The CSPJ likes Commissions
The counting of records of 37 individuals who responded to the call for proposals in regard to the replacement of Marie Carole Floréal Duclervil to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) ended Wednesday at the headquarters of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ). A commission composed of councilors Jacques Létang, Tiers Malette and Jean Alix Fils-Aimé has been established. The Commission will submit its report to a preselection Commission of 5 members, which will define the eligibility criteria.

President Martelly in Antigua and Barbuda
President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Wilson Laleau, Minister of Commerce and Industry, attends the 35th Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of CARICOM in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda from 1 to July 4, 2014. Head of State will hold bilateral meetings with several Heads of State and Government of the region. The President will return home Friday, July 4.
