Gandy Thomas, the Consul General of Haiti in Atlanta, multiplies its efforts in the Senate of the State of Georgia in favor of Haitian. Several cases were discussed, inter alia: the establishment of a community center in Atlanta, getting help for disabled Haitian / and refugees of the 2010 earthquake, the opportunity for Haitian and Haitian-American students to receive the same benefits as other students (grants, scholarships...) and finally a Bill, to enable entrepreneurs Haitian or Haitian-Americans to be certified as a minority society to access include: special loans, tax breaks and subsidies.

1st Edition of the Festival of Books and Arts
From 21 to 23 March, the city of Port-de-Paix will host the first edition of the Festival of Books and Arts Northwest Mediterranean, around the theme "Liv nan men, Nodwès an avan". This cultural event, led by the "Société Nordouésienne d’Art et de Littérature" (SONAL) and "Tanbou-Literè" is intended to be a meeting space and exchange, of a variety of artistic and literary disciplines between the festival, writers and artists.

Strengthening response capacities of UDMO

As part of the continuous training of agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), 16 agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO) of the PNH North benefited in late February of an internship-practice in technical and tactical response given by two instructors from the UN Police (UNPOL) to strengthen their capacity to respond and be more efficient to serve and protect every day, the population.
