Haiti - News : Some news here and there... 17/03/2014 15:55:52 The distributor Fun Film will screen Tuesday, March 18, outdoors in the parking lot of the Casino de Montreal, 2100 Pierre-Dupuy Avenue, Montreal, QC H3C 3R5, in preview the documentary "Ayiti Toma" of director Joseph Hillel. This preview will be attended by a hundred members of the Association of Haitian taxi drivers of Montreal which has nearly 6,000 Haitian drivers of a total of 15,000. "Ayiti Toma" will be in cinema starting March 21 on the screensof : Cinema Beaubien, Cinema du Parc (English subtitles) and two Cinemas Guzzo (Pont Viau and Longueuil). New Campus of Community Development of J/P HRO The Community Center J/P HRO, Kay Kominote, oved into a larger facility. On Wednesday, the J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO), of American actor Sean Penn, will inaugurate its new Campus of Community Development, which will provide more space to encourage community participation in the neighborhood of Delmas 32, with educational, artistic and sports activities for people of all ages. Debates about land reform A week after the holding of the first National Urban Forum, the workshop "Land reform in Haiti: orientation and Methods" organized by the Interministerial Committee for Territorial Planning (CIAT) which will put the land at the heart of the debate, 20 March 2014. Student involvement in the country's development Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism had a meeting with the officials of universities of architecture such as GOC University, Quisqueya University and the Faculty of Sciences of the State University of Haiti, concerning bids / proposals, by graduating students of construction plans for tourist lodges to soon to be implanted in Milot, north of Haiti. The idea to start is to have workshops in the near future with these young people for an exchange of ideas and an agreement on concepts and models. This initiative falls within the framework of the Government's willingness to include students and young people in the development process of the country. Study on IDPs... On Monday, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will conduct the official presentation of the results of a study funded by the Canadian Government through (CIDA) and executed by IOM together with the Brookings Institute. This study was performed in order to study the application and applicability of the conceptual framework for durable solutions for IDPs in the context of Haiti post-earthquake, in order to make recommendations on the steps to assist displaced regarding the continuation of durable solutions.
