Tuesday took place the first plenary session of the Lower House, chaired by Jacques Stevenson Thimoléon, devoted exclusively to the registration of political blocs, as provided by the regulations. At least 51 deputies ere present. Apart from the pro-government majority bloc "Parliamentarians for Stability and Progress" (PSP), two other minority blocks have confirmed their existence in the House: "Parliamentarians for Institutional Strengthening" (PRI) and "Parliamentarians for political balance" (PEP). No other political bloc has been recorded. Calendar of pre-Carnival activities The pre-carnival activities of the 2014 National Carnival will be held around the Artibonite: January 26 in Saint-Marc, on February 2 in Gros Morne, February 9 in Marchand, February 16 in St-Michel de l'Atalaye and 23 February in Gonaïves, closing of pre-carnival festivities. Two walking bands will be chosen in these communes, to participate in the route of the 2014 National Carnival, during the three days Gras 2, 3 and 4 March in Gonaïves.
