Diaspora and elections
Thursday, a Haitian delegation of member of Haitian Perspective (PH), an organization of diapsora Florida, met with Marc-Élie Nelson, the Director General of the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MAHVE) about the possibility that Haitian outside are involved in the organization of the forthcoming elections in Haiti. The issue of National Identity Card in favor of the diaspora was also on the agenda. Members of the PH are left satisfied with their meeting.

Positive results for PNH
Tuesday, Inspector Garry Desrosiers, deputy spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) reported that for the period from 1 to 12 January 2014, 32 people were arrested for various reasons (criminal conspiracy, theft armed robbery, rape, drug trafficking...) 7 guns, 2 vehicles and more than 43,000 U.S. dollars were seized. Moreover Inspector Desrosiers indicated that an individual named Ronald Monier, suspected of involvement in acts of kidnapping, was actively sought by the police.

100,000 farmers will receive government assistance
