The CFI announces new investment

The Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) announced new foreign direct investment : nearly $5.5 million "LXJ Pou Ayiti S.A." a company specializing in the manufacture of footwear for export, which will create 1,389 jobs and an local investment of 2 million of "Duty Free Americas of Haiti", a shop selling duty services and products of international standard, which will create 100 direct jobs and about 400 indirect.

2014 National Carnival

Saturday, the Organizing Committee of the Carnival 2014 met in Gonaives, some communal representatives of the department of Artibonite in preparation for the 2014 national carnival. Josette Darguste, the Acting Minister of Culture declared that the Carnival will be that of Artibonite and to this end the pre-carnival days will take place in various municipalities of the department. Furthermore, the Minister of Tourism announced that the inventory of hotel rooms and the identification of cottages in the region to plan the reception and accommodation of revelers had begun.

The press visit projects of the UCLBP

Saturday, journalists from the national and international press have visited various projects implemented by the Unit for Housing Construction and Public Buildings (UCLBP) in the sectors of public buildings, housing, relocation and rehabilitation of neighborhoods : IMO, MICT, Cour de Cassation, Village Lumane Casimir, Morne Hercule, Place Boyer. Journalists were accompanied by executives of the UCLBP.

Prayers in Suriname

Sunday, the Consul General of the Republic of Haiti Suriname, Alex Jospitre and staff visited 6 churches to ask all fellow Haitians as well as to Surinamese people to pray for the hundreds of thousands of Haitian, who passed away in Haiti in the tragedy of January 12, 2010, as well as those affected for life and for all the many families still afflicted today.
